I'm surprised no one else posted. Animal did a lot of conventions the last 15 years so I'd imagine most people had met him. He seemed pretty quiet but had a humble way about it like he didn't feel like a star. I personal liked Animal a lot more than Hawk but I'm sure Animal would have taken issue with that as what his brother in wrestling. He seemed like a strong family man so I hope his family takes solace in the good times they spent together.

It seems that people either had a very good, or pretty bad experience with him at conventions.

Personally, I had a great experience.

I also met him back about 1990 after a show, and he was very friendly.

Others tell a much different story.

But 60, sheesh. Can a wrestler even get a life insurance policy ?????

I had a good experience with him the 2x I met him. He was just at Wrestling Universe & the folks there said he was cool. The sad part seems to be that he was celebrating his anniversary.

I think so much depends on the fan too. So many fans want to get the autograph and get out or are unable to make small talk or are star struck and they expect the wrestler to do all the talking. If it's a quiet guy like Animal they may leave with a bad impression. Guys like you are experience type of fans. Your pictures and stories always show an experience so you may tend to have better success and friendlier encounters because you have the ability to make it a memorable experience.
