The situation in Syria is practically resolved thanks to Putin.

Russian forces withdrawing from Syria.

All non-ISIS factions are now cooperating with the Syrian government.

Assad's forces have gained lost provinces.

ISIS supply lines have practically been cut off.

Assad will not go the way of Saddam.

Syria will not go the way of Iraq.

Thank you Putin! :tebowing:

HAEH? That was happening LONG before Putin's involvement. Obama in fact supported the so called "rebels" in Syria.

You also forget that the entire Syria mess began as a result of mass hardship brought on by a years-long drought due to climate change. This is only the first of what will be many more climate change caused international incidents as many areas simply run out of fresh water. Of course, Mr. Trump thinks it's just a hoax invented by the Chinese, makers of his hats.

However it started, bringing down Assad (the goal of Obama) would have been as idiotic as bringing down Saddam. Just like Saddam did for so long, Assad actually brings order to the country and protected non-Muslims from prosecution. If Assad was brought down Syria would have plunged into chaos just like Iraq.

ISIS almost wiped out in Syria

Post by class316 » September 22nd, 2017, 4:59 pm

Thanks to Putin, ISIS is almost obliterated in Syria!
Syrian armed forces supported by the Russian Air Force have regained control of 87.4 percent of the country, Russia’s military said, adding that Russian warplanes had destroyed over 96,000 terrorist targets in the course of the two-year campaign.

The scale of Russia’s contribution to the liberation of Syria from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) and its restoration was revealed in the infographics published by the ministry’s official publication, the Krasnaya Zvezda (Red Star) newspaper late Thursday.

Since September 30, 2015, when Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the deployment of the Russian jets and helicopters to Syria at the request of the Syrian government, they have conducted more than 30,000 sorties, annihilating more than 96,000 targets, according to data cited in the publication.

Among the terrorist positions destroyed in the raids were 8,332 command posts, over 53,700 militants of terrorist groups, and almost a thousand training camps, as well as 6,769 oil and ammunition depots.

The Russian leader has dispatched his fearsome task force to work alongside Syrian government troops to eliminate packs of fleeing jihadis.

ISIS are on the brink of being completely wiped out in the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor – its last major foothold in the war torn country.

Now Russian special forces have launched a huge offensive in the western part of the city to expand their control over the area.

Russia have been helping Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad wrest back control of his country from rebel groups and Islamist groups such as ISIS and A-Nusra.

This basically means Assad is in no danger of going the way of Saddam for the foreseeable future :like:

Additionally, Russia is offering their services to help wipe out ISIS in Iraq: https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/ru ... -diplomat/

RIP to Russian war hero Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov

Died trying to save Assad, Syria, and the world from ISIS
A top Russian general has been killed by an ISIS mortar strike in Syria as he tried to help Bashar al-Assad troops fight in the war-torn country.

Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov was in the Middle East and was 'at a command post of Syrian troops', according to the Russia's Defence Ministry.

He moved to Syria to assist commanders in the operation for the liberation of the city of Deir ez-Zor.

But he was 'mortally wounded' after a mortar strike was carried out by ISIS on Sunday.

Russian air strikes in Syria between September 19 and 29 resulted in the deaths of 2,359 militants with a further 2,700 or so wounded, the Russian Ministry of Defense has announced. 16 field commanders, and over 400 citizens from the former USSR are among the casualties.
The ministry said that over 11 days Russian aircraft destroyed 67 militant outposts, 51 armories, 27 tanks, 21 rocket launchers and nearly 200 specialized vehicles belonging to the Islamist groups.
September 30 marks the second anniversary of the Russian army’s involvement in the Syrian conflict, at the behest of the government of Bashar Assad. Moscow recently said that government forces have retaken control of 87 percent of the country's territory.

Syria has been completely liberated from ISIS, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Valery Gerasimov said on Wednesday that the group has been expelled from its final strongholds in the Euphrates Valley.

'Therefore, as of today, there's no territory controlled by ISIS in Syria,' he said.
ISIS has now lost all of the territory it claimed back in 2014 as it swept through the Middle East in a lightning offensive which established it as the world's most powerful terrorist group.

Russia's military intervention in Syria's civil war in 2015 has turned the tide of the conflict in favour of Moscow's ally, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and against rebel groups fighting to oust him.

:rockvictory:

Two years ago it seemed 50% chance Assad would go the way of Saddam. Now, Isis is gone, Assad won't be going anywhere! Thank you Putin.
