I'm not even going to argue the price tag, nor will I argue that one member is essentially a scrub. How long does it take to take 12 photo ops? 20 minutes at the most? And they can't do that? Really? :f8you:

My ole Curiosity strikes again for everyone :

Would think had been a consideration IF there was a solo shot?

Yeah that's a terrible idea. However, if there was a solo shot, would you splurge the 2500? I know you don't want to argue the price tag...

$2500? Too much.. I wouldn't pay it even if individual group pics are allowed

Well mainly cause I have no plans to get it.

Would I if solo? That's a tough question. Essentially I'd be paying $2500 for one man, James Hatfield, as I have the others. I guess I could possibly do it and sell everything else may recoup about half the money. But if I can't stand next to James it would be also be a waste of money for me as he's the one I need so I'd also be gambling on that front.

Another factor would be not being able to crop out Robert so if he's not at the far end the band shot is basically worthless. But that would still be acceptable if I can just crop me and James into a photo.

The ultimate shot would be if Jason Newstead were there instead of Robert. THEN that is the shot of shots.

Additionally, another gamble would be the quality of the photo op. As we learnt from the past paying up the ass does not guarantee you a good quality shot. Joresky's ZZ Top m&g being a prime example of that (though far from the only one).

In short, I likely wouldn't pay due to the high price, only needing one of the band members, and the gambles involved.

Re: The quest to ENTER SANDMAN which led to autographs and photo ops

Post by capman » May 19th, 2017, 10:04 am

Well, Jorskey and all Metallica lovers, it appears for this ONE arena show, they did solo photo ops and autographs wonder if it was because it was so low selling:

ME : "SO was this a private mng as you knowing them, or was this the regular $1500 mng they were offering? Because you got very lucky as they said it would be a group shot! Good for you!"

Rolf Luberoff This was the Hardwired Experience package but this is the first time they did individual pictures. Only arena show on tour. The museum was sick too. It was like Disneyland for Metallica. Got to rock out on a few of their stage used guitars.

$2500 not $1500. No regrets. Way too much money to gamble on that. That guy was very lucky.

Sorry, $2500. and he said THIS:

"Only 12 packages per show but 3 people didn't show up :gah: ,so only 9 of us total. Allowed for extra time. They really took their time with each person and chatted us up. Was a good 30 mins total with the band."

I hope that they didn't sell 3 cause three people not showing is...well....WOW.

I checked before the tour started it seems all the $2500 m&g packages was sold out.

Wow 3 people did not care to lose that kind of money? Must REALLY be nice to be those people. I feel a stroke coming if I lose $25, much less $2500.

But yea even if one is interested and can afford it, $2500 way too much to gamble when the writing says you get a group shot with 11 strangers.

That group shot is perfect though because you can crop out Robert! Wow!

For me it seems like a waste regardless cause I'd basically be paying for James. Need nothing else there. Although if I get an album I already have Kirk and Lars completed by James, I may recoup a good chunk of that $2500

Interesting choice of what he got signed. Only four are personal and only one James. But for $2500, why try for the MORE??

I would presume that they only sold 9, and BS'd on "the other 3 didn't show up". Unless it was corporate guys who bought the tickets to schmooze clients (like the corps who buy the super expensive Yankee season tickets by the dugout to use on clients, and don't end up using a lot of them), I can't imagine ANYBODY, no matter how well off they are, just blowing off $2500 unless it was a last minute emergency thing.

So the guy answered back :

" I brought 10 things for James. He would only sign one plus the setlist, Technically they are all supposed to only sign one".
