ROH 5/7 Report

Post by class316 » May 10th, 2010, 3:08 am

Despite my sadness in missing what could possibly be my only chance to meet Vampiro, I eased the pain a bit by driving 20 minutes and attending my second ever ROH show.

I ended up getting quite a few autographs and photo ops.

I got Daniels to sign my TNA program as Daniels (already have him on there as Curry Man and Suicide). And I got Rederick Strong to sign my TNA program as well.

Got Tyler Black on the cover of an ROH program which I actually mooched. They were selling it for $5 but I just found one lying around. So I picked it up.

They had a flyer with the Briscoe Brothers on it. Got them to sign it.

Photo op wise, my highlight has to be Chris Hero. For ages I've heard about how he is the indy version of Triple H. But I managed to find him while talking to three hot girls. I asked him for a photo op and he was extra friendly about it taking time to pose while one of the girls snapped the photo! He even conversed with me and told me to go enjoy the show. How cool is that?

Here is my photo op with purple Jerseyed Chris Hero: http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/imag ... 980886.jpg

Besides him, got a photo op with both Briscoes, Daizy Haze, Sara Del Ray, Tylor Black, Roderick Strong, Rhett Titus, and masked Delirious

My other photo ops: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/6805/rohg.jpg

The highlight of course must have been my interaction with Rhett Titus. During his match I was close to him but he did or said nothing. So I wondered if he remembered me or not.

Outside after the show I went up to him for an auto to see if he would remember me from Charlotte. Immediately he had an angry stare down, and I got a photo of that: http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/3756/1016083.jpg

He then signed for me, I shook his hand and told him hello.

Afterwards we both exchanged crotch chops.

My feud with Titus is a pretty fun one. I suppose he'll always remember me now.

Big thank you to Paul (he goes to conventions you would know him if you saw him) for some awesome photo ops (the shitty ones are not his). I classify him with the few people at conventions that takes good photo ops.

Unfortunately, this may very well be my last ROH show ever. Turns out they will never come to this venue and are moving to another venue 2 hours away from me (still in the same state).

This is bad for two reasons

1) This venue was 15-20 minutes from me, and I don't think they can make me drive 2 hours unless they get somebody I really need.

2) This venue was the perfect venue for "meeting opportunities" as you can see in my photo ops.

First off there are only one set of bathrooms the wrestlers can use, AND you can easily see who is going to the bathroom. I kid you not! You are in the ring area and the walls are made of glass. After the bathroom break is a good chance for autos and photos

And second there are only 2 doors they can leave the venue from, both within reach!

I will surely miss ROH at this venue. It's too small for TNA to use so I don't see TNA ever coming to that.

At least I made good use of it while I could.

Only way I see myself going to ROH again is if they are in the same area as another show I'm already at. Hopefully that happens as I do enjoy their shows. $20-$25 tickets and gettable autographs and photo ops.

I love the photo Hero sells at indy shows. Its him sitting behind Virgils convention table with Virgils big sign saying hes a legend and such. I asked Chris about it and he told me, that pic was some of his best work ever. hahaha

Is that pic actually him sitting there or is it photo shopped?

I'm pretty sure it was him legitimately sitting there behind the table. All Virgil's gimmicks were gone from the table except for the banner on the front of the table.

I thought it was a decent show. I wish they would have continued to run Manassas. 15 minutes from my house, doesn't get much better than that. They could have fit more seats in, they were using adifferent setup than last June's show with Flair.
I also got to meet Class316 during the show.

I don't understand the "hard-to-get" Hero mentioning. He's been the friendliest guy and easiest to meet every show I've been to that he's at.
