Re: Oddities first Entrance song

The Kat spot is still on the Network, but they digitally blurred out the nudity. In fact, they even blur out the old Flair spot where the heel gets his trunks pulled and his ass crack is out for a minute. No nudity of any kind is kept on the Network. I didn't methodically go back and watch a bunch o...

Re: Oddities first Entrance song

If it was a correctness issue and they didn't want to be seen making fun of freaks, they would have deleted the actual matches featuring the gimmick, not the background music during the segments. As far as I know, the only (non-rights issue) things that get automatically cut from the Network are F-b...

Re: Oddities first Entrance song

They actually had a non-lyric song before going with the ICP song. It sounded like a circus type theme and was used when Jackyl introduced them on a Raw. I can't remember if ICP was with them on that episode. The instrumental version was only used for a brief period of time. When Jackyl first intro...

Re: Oddities first Entrance song

It was an ICP song, so I'm guessing that they just licensed it to WWE for a certain period of time, and didn't sign off on permanent usage rights. Happens all the time on the Network unfortunately - it's especially noticeable in the Attitude Era, when they would license popular songs to be PPV theme...

Re: Motor City Comic Con - May 17-19 2019 - Novi, MI

I don't need Charlie, but hopefully they'll book other SOA people around him, and end up bringing in William Lucking. I wouldn't expect Kurt Sutter to get booked here, but I'd certainly love to be wrong, since I need him as well. Either one of those two would get me to Michigan.

Tom Wilson, AKA Biff Tannen, added.

Funny how he went from a nearly impossible to get name, to a total con whore, within a couple of years.

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

Vince basically signed Goldberg to a six month deal for his last run - not even an opt-out, just a deal where he KNEW that he was only coming on from like Survivor Series to WrestleMania. And he had him basically squash his most protected talent in Lesnar too - all knowing that six months from then,...

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

Could all that be real? Has anyone ever been offered opt out deals by WWE? I have no idea if it's real, but today's WWE contractual attitude is completely 100% different than what it was during the Monday Night Wars, or even 5-10 years ago. They've licensed TNA footage to air on Network shows, and ...

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

The Being the Elite show would've been terrrrribbbllleee. Opt out is interesting but, honestly, WWE could push them to the moon for those first 6 month then pull their typical bullshit with them in years two and three and they'd be stuck there. But if that is accurate, they're crazy to have NOT tak...

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

Has anybody in the modern era of US wrestling, other than WWE, EVER gotten a big money TV rights deal from a network? WCW was owned by the same corporate group that owned the network, and I don't think TNA and ECW were getting huge revenue off of their TV deals, and they were already established com...

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

The bigger problem is, where is the incoming revenue going to come from? If they go a traditional PPV route, you have NJPW and WWE giving you their entire library for ten bucks a month, so are people in large numbers going to pay $20+ anymore for a single wrestling PPV? They don't have an existing t...

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

Yeah, I mean the guy was working 10+ PPVs a year during the Attitude Era, including multiple high profile WrestleMania matches, so I'm skeptical on the "best money deal he ever had" claim he's saying. Like I said, I don't believe that's the case, but if the Khan's really are out-spending what Vince ...

Re: All Elite Wrestling Promotion Confirmed

Unless it's top guys who can make a difference, I really don't want to see them just grab up a bunch of available WWE guys. TNA went that route for a while, and it just made them look like they were picking up Vince's discarded table scraps. Honestly, they'd be better off pretty much ignoring WWE fo...
